In addition to the R&D activities, the EZD is also active
on further education and knowledge transfer.

Our presential and online courses are based on the principle "theory meets practice". Participants benefit from the application-oriented lectures and practical tips for their daily work. During the event there is also the opportunity to discuss and elaborate solutions to your professional challenges and questions together with our experts.

Individual training and advice

Know-How à la carte - served by the dispersing experts

Optimise the production and characterisation of your products with know-how directly from the dispersion experts. The EZD offers individual training and consulting in the field of dispersion, e.g. for paint systems, inks, battery materials, coatings and adhesives. 

You determine the location and content!
You determine the training content and whether the training is held at your premises, at our laboratories or online. For example, a half-day training course for up to 5 participants starts at 960,- EUR (plus VAT).

Our individual training courses are modular. We offer you the following modules, among others:

Basics

Process additives

Content: Wetting and dispersing additives, rheology additives, defoamers and deaerators.

Duration: approx. 45 min

Inkjet ink formulation

Content: Basic components, production and quality control

Duration: approx. 45 min.

Bio-based resin systems and natural fibres

Content: Bio-based resin systems and natural fibres

Duration: approx. 30 min

Characterisation

Content: Overview of the methods particle measurement technology (DLS, laser diffraction analysis), stability investigation (sedimentation and zeta potential) and rheology (flow properties).

Duration: approx. 45 min

Formulation of resin systems

Content: Resin chemistry, fillers/additives and process additives.

Duration: approx. 45 min.

Dispersion of colour pastes

Content: Basics of dispersing and overview of conventional dispersing processes.

Duration: approx. 45 min

Advanced Knowledge

Increasing the storage stability of suspensions

Content: Basics, selection of stabilisers and rheology additives.

Duration: approx. 45 min

Dispersion process

Content: Type of stress, area of application, process parameters and optimisation as well as upscaling to the dissolver, high-pressure homogeniser, ultrasonic homogeniser, agitator ball mill, rotor-stator homogeniser, 3-roll mill and intensive mixer processes.

Duration: approx. 30 min (per process)

Sedimentation analysis

Content: Direct and accelerated determination of dispersion stability.

Duration: approx. 45 min

Flow and zeta potential measurements

Content: Investigation of the stability of suspensions

Duration: approx. 45 min

Rheology

Content: Flow behaviour of suspensions depending on the formulation, methods of rotational and oscillatory rheometry. 

Duration: approx. 45 min

Particle sizing

Content: Measurement principles, sample preparation and evaluation for the methods dynamic light scattering, laser diffraction analysis and microscopy.

Duration: approx. 30 min (per method)

Colour measurement

Content: Basics of colour perception, colour space and distances as well as measurement techniques.

Duration: approx. 45 min

Moisten and stabilise powder in a targeted manner

Content: Stabilisation mechanisms, selection of wetting and dispersing additives and influence on final properties.

Duration: approx. 45 min
